Mounted Bearing Changeout Has Never Been So “Awesomely Easy”

With the introduction of the new TIME SAVING™ Axial Groove in Bore feature to the Sealmaster® Large Bore Performance Gold Line Mounted Ball Bearing, mounted bearing changeout has been revolutionized – making bearing removal “awesomely easy”. This new feature is available in both a medium 2 7/16’ and up and standard 2 11/16” and up shaft sizes. The design provides clearance from the burr created by the setscrew used to lock the bearing to the shaft, which makes removal difficult and can cause damage to the shaft during removal. This feature has no impact to ball path roundness, load and speed rating, strength or bearing performance.

When a bearing needs to be replaced, either planned or unexpectedly, every minute of downtime can cost thousands of dollars. With the Time Saving bearing, customers are able to reuse their shaft and take care of shaft clean up on site without worrying about shaft damage. The Time Saving bearing was tested on site at a quarry in the Midwest. After 6 months of use, removing the new Time Saving bearing was deemed “awesomely easy” by the machine operator. The new Time Saving Axial Groove in Bore feature is a Plant Engineering 2017 Product of the Year award winner!
